This came out last summer but, I listen to things at my own pace. Thanks to @TSmif for putting me on to this– I like the aggressive rap these days. 1/2 of Bleu Collar, Reese1 put this out with Troublemaker as King Fantastic: Finger Snaps and Gun Claps
Check out the video to one of my favorite songs off it:

Snoop hit up the Twitter Headquarters yesterday for his #PuffPuffPassTuesdays and played them a preview of his album, Doggumentary. Him and his new protege, Pilot (newest member of DPG), performed the song “Gangbang Rookie” (which you can see in the video below). The song got such a dope response that he decided to drop the Jake One-produced record today.

Leading up to (and beyond) Snoop’s upcoming album release, Doggumentary, Snoop Dogg’s going to be releasing various records from the album for all to hear. There are definitely going to be some good ones coming through.
Today was the first day of #PuffPuffPassTuesdays, and Snoop released “El Lay” produced by Scoop DeVille and featuring Marty James (same dude on his New Year’s Eve record).

Famous L.A. based street artist Retna, took some time to talk with LAFWD.org to discuss his newest piece that can be seen in Downtown L.A.’s skid row called “Blessed Are The Meek.”
The mural was created with fellow artist El Mac and photographer Estevan Oriol for The Jonah Project, a church operating in a converted warehouse on 6th St. and Crocker Street.

Red Bull Culture Clash is tonight, featuring a “battle” between music collectives: Dim Mak, Stones Throw, Smog & Dub Club.
The format of the show will be broken into four rounds; the crowd will vote after each round based on a series of criteria and their applause and cheers will be measured by a decibel meter. <–YES

I teamed up with LA Stereo TV to follow the gentlemen of Diamond District [yU, XO, Oddisee & DJ Quartermaine] for a day in LA. We got a great interview over at Regal Tenant, took them to Roscoe’s and followed them to their Fat Beats in-store. Typical LA stuff. Check out the video above to hear the guys speak on the DC hip hop scene, the industry, forming the group, personal insight & more.
