It seems as if the new trend in urban culture/music is to make up phrases that become apart of the Hip Hop lexicon. Count me in. I’ve actually been using some while I’ve been away from the site. It’s proof that I’ve had a lot of time to be an idiot on tour, in studios, and on twitter. Here we go:
TRAP SWAG TRAAAAP: That’s very good; Congratulations; yes, she is attractive; yes you have my approval to carry out that action.
YAWP: a way to say yes to any perceived gangmember or white woman with a phat ass.
PARLIAMENTARY PIMPIN, HOOT HOOT YA CLAAAW: We are doing rather well as a unit. A toast to all of us. Understand.
DIP DIP: Dip Dip is Dip Dip.
HOT SAWCE BAWLIN SHAWTY: To excel on the highest level.

So the other day, while at my sister’s High School Powder Puff game that ended in Double OT, me and a couple of twitter comrades were trading over-used rap phrases that need to be disposed of. Shout out to @HipHopHenry & @AndreaMonique. Here’s a couple we came up with. *Warning* I will be spelling these phonetically.
-”You already KNOW whud it ihhh” -….the fuck i do. This is usually proceeded with a ‘dis ya boy…’ Seems kinda futile to introduce yourself after acknowledging the fact that we should already know what it is.
-”It sounds so beautiful, don’t you agree?!” -It sounds like Fruity Loop stock drums and a 2 bar loop repeating over and over. Let’s hop off of Hov’s penis for a second and use other phrases. I vote for ‘Man, this is a really good beat, don’t you think so?!’
-”(Rapper name) waddup! (Manager name) waddup! (Homie that just got release from prison) I see you baby! We in heayah! (Something Misspelled) Innatainment! (Exclaim year of recording).” -Unless they are on the song, we don’t need a role call. Actually, we never need a role call. And I would refrain from callin any nigga who just a did a bid ‘baby’ for any reason.
-”I’m goin in…uh…yea…check it” -It makes you sound like you lack confidence. And it’s usually said off beat.
-”I’m so fly like a ____ on a _____” -We’ve exhausted all of the airborne objects.
Admittedly, I haven’t posted in a while.
Admittedly, I’m very scatterbrained at the moment and can’t think of any kind of editorial to write that wouldn’t piss somebody off or be considered “shots” (pyoom pyoom pyoom).
So I just decided to post 4 videos from my YouTube favorites folder. Maybe you’ll laugh with me? Oh by the way, that definitely is my beat “Girl” off of MoveMeants in the last video.

I had a blog planned for today that would’ve took alot of time and effort. Then, I came across this video. This is Kiely Williams from 3LW/Cheetah Girls fame. I lot of people ask me what I mean or am referring to when I use the word Harlot. I could define it, or you could watch her “Spectacular” music video and have your a-ha moment.
In the next video, Kiely sets the record straight….because I was under the assumption that the song was condoning date rape. I don’t think the outrage stems from you being a Cheetah Girl, but moreso from the outright harlotry that occurs.
You’re welcome.

So when Jasmin and I get together, we tend to hate on things. We call em Hate-Dates. Hate-Dates at 8 sometimes.
We like rhymes. But anyways, she challenged me to blog about a pet peeve of mine. But since we’re all family, why don’t I just list everything that would make me hate you? Hexmurda style. Lets go.
-Smacking on food. This is #1, no joke. I will look at you and judge you if you do this around me. Ask my older sister.
-The phrase “google me”. That’s just some sucka shit. Except Dae One’s shirt. That was dope.
-The term “bro bro”. Cut that shit out.
-Play-Aunts, Uncles, Cousins. YOU ARE NOT MY FAMILY!!
-Nicholas Cage. He looks like a smart alick. A teller of bad jokes. An over-laugher. I abhor him.
-Nicholas Cage. 2x for emphasis.
-Carrots. Useless. I call them orange poison.
-Girls with big tits and no ass. Why are you here?! #EatSomeCornbread
-Chamillionaire. I hear he’s dope, I don’t know. I can’t take King Koopa-lookin rappers who dress like it’s 2002 seriously.

-Myspace Messages. No I can’t attend your event in Sioux Falls.
-Eminem beats.
-Irwindale, California. It looks like the Apocalypse.

I’m a bandwagon J-Dilla fan. Well, sort of. Let me explain.
I’ve grown up around Hip Hop pretty much my whole life. Pre-1999, I wasn’t aware of anybody’s production style but Timbaland and DJ Premier. If it was a beat by them, I knew it. However, I later realized/learned that Dilla was behind the production of some of my favorite hip hop songs. Tribe’s “Find A Way” is my 2nd favorite Hip Hop song of all time. Pharcyde’s “Runnin”, Q-Tip’s “Breathe and Stop”, Busta Rhymes “It Ain’t Safe No More” among many others were some of my favorite songs/beats ever. I just never researched who was behind them.
Fast forward t0 2005. In May of that year, I visited New York for my first time ever. On my one day running around the city, I picked up one of my favorite albums ever on the day of its release in SoHo: Common’s “BE”. Being the nerd I am, I immediately opened up the booklet to see the production credits. All Kanye, and a dude named Jay Dee. I knew it wasn’t Dupri because of the spelling. Plus I couldn’t imagine a Common/JD collab. I got to “Love Is” and was intrigued. I thought to myself “this is dope. this new producer is dope.” Jump to November of 05. I was studying abroad in London, and picked up another of my favorite albums. Little Brother’s “Minstrel Show”. I noticed that on the track “Hiding Place” a dude named J-Dilla got the production credit. It was a dope track. I told myself that as soon as I got back to the States, I would look this guy up on Myspace.
I did just that in January 2006. Listened to the tracks on his page, liked them all. I believe he had tracks from the Chrome Children project on there, as well as promo for Donuts that was coming out in February. I made a mental note to check for the album, and pretty much left it alone.
February 10th, I read on some hip hop website, probably All Hip Hop, that producer Jay Dee had passed away. I recognized that name. Dude who did Common’s tracks. Wow, bright new producer passes away. I read the article, and find out Dilla and Jay Dee were the same person. I think I spent that entire morning researching Dilla. Oh shit, he was part of The Ummah? Oh shit, he produced “Till It’s Gone” by Janet? He’s been producing all these songs that I love and had no clue who was behind it? Wow.
I just happened to be home that weekend from school, since it was a week before my bday, and I couldn’t come home on my actual bday. I went to the Tower Records by the West Covina Mall and bought Donuts. It was the first instrumental album I had ever heard of, and didn’t know how it could really work. That CD never came out of my car for a good month. I even played the cd for my Mom. I felt like she needed to hear how dope it was. She just loved how he was sampling all of her songs she listened to growing up.I was a fiend looking for more. I picked up Ruff Draft. The Shining. Anything Dilla I could find. Messing with these Dilla albums exposed me to more dope artists like Madlib and Guilty Simpson.
From February 10, 2006, I can say that I ‘ve become a fan/student of Dilla. I study Dilla alot. I don’t mimic, I study and stand in awe. He might be one of the most patient producers ever. I think about the sound clips he puts on his beats. Do you know how much digging/research that takes? He may have taken a 4 second sound clip from a 2 hour movie, because it brought life to his beat. I think about how it seems like he’s using the same drum loop, until an expected kick comes in. I think about how he slowed down and pitched up the sample for “Time: Donuts of the Heart”. I think about his stupid drum compression and filtering. There are few people in the world who have mastered their craft/profession. I believe that Dilla was one of those people. I don’t see how he could’ve gotten any better.
So yea, bandwagon or not. I’m glad I took the opportunity to find out who he was. The beautiful thing is, that with all of the Dilla mentions on twitter, somebody is about to discover Dilla too, on February 10, 2010. 4 years to the day that we lost him.
RIP Dilla. And Thank You.
Because I care…and you should too.
Admittedly, I use to run around the house when i was 5 or 6 and pretend I was in this group. I was actually a pretend member of Kriss Kross as well. I was the new member Krass, who was rude and had a street edge. But back to this Relief Fund.
Thanks to Michael Bivins, we had Another Bad Creation in the early 90s, a voice for young black preteen males all over the nation, pre-92 LA riots.
They gave us 2 great hits. Thank you. But now, these old niggas are trying to make a comeback. Or sell a DVD advertising their comeback. I don’t know. This was released in 2007, and I never heard of the DVD.
This is where you come in. You, with a simple donation of $10, can feed a member of Another Bad Creation and deter him from resorting to music-making in a last ditch effort to salvage their life. You can help. You.
Please send all checks/cash/canned goods to:

Twitter is da bomb (c) 1996. I’ve met some super interesting people through that network, including some people who make me feel like I’m not alone in the world with my random ass thoughts. One of these people is none other than @Kate_Starr. You should all follow her. Guys, she’s a cute white girl. Girls, she talks about fashion, food and sex. I expect to see her at 1,000 followers by the end of the week.
Anyways, we talk on AIM from time to time. Yea, it’s gettin serious. Every conversation we have, I joke about posting our convo on the interwebs for the whole world to see.
